Currently in the Design Discussion Forum, we're taking a long hard look at microtransactions! It seems that Frontier Development are genuinely looking to see what will work, and what will break things. There have been many degrees of skepticism on the part of the DDF contingent as to the appropriateness of microtransactions. Some have called on SWTOR, GW2 and WoT as examples. Others commented on stories surrounding the Mech Warrior fiasco. I've also been trying to push FD in to some sort of subscription based payment alongside the inevitable cash-shop. I don't know if they'll listen, but so far, there's been some support!
If you are in the DDF or PFB for Elite: Dangerous, get over to the forums now and cast your votes!

Behaviour Interactive and Games Workshop® proudly announce a new online game in the Warhammer®40,000® universe: Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade.
Behaviour Interactive has obtained the rights to create a wholly new
MMORPG persistent war experience for PC, PS4 and Xbox One set in Games
Workshop’s universe of the 41st Millennium. In the game, players choose a
Warhammer 40,000® race and fight directly as one of
their warriors in massive conflicts for territory. It will be up to each
faction’s community to determine their own destiny as they vie for
control of an entire planet.
What kind of game is this?
Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade is a
3rd-person, Massive Combat RPG. Players select one of the factions of
the 41st millennium and fight for control of a persistent world,
claiming territory in massive battles and hacking their way through
procedural content while earning the right to customize their characters
in a deep progression system drawn from Warhammer 40,000 lore.
What is the combat like?
Eternal Crusade's combat is fully
action-based, meaning that you hit exactly where you shoot or swing and
it's up to your skill whether you pull off a headshot or block that
incoming chainsword. In addition, gamepads will be fully supported.
Both ranged and melee weapons have equal
emphasis – as in the iconic battles of Warhammer 40,000, combat begins
at a distance with guns and heavy vehicle-mounted weaponry before
progressing to bloody blade-on-blade action with brutal executions.
For those not living under a rock I am sure you have seen that the kickstarter from the (in)famous Mark Jacobs for his new game Camelot Unchained. It has gone active last week and is now boasting well over $890k pledged.W e have some people that are indeed living under a rock, or who haven't looked at the game at all due to Jacobs. So let me shed a bit of light on this game with some bullet points followed up with questions.
Camelot Unchained is in a way the spiritual successor of Dark Age of Camelot, the game by some to be named the PvP MMO due to it's 3 faction pvp, realm pride and the fact that small groups could hold off large groups and all that kind of stuff (this is from hearsay as I never touched DAoC!). So what will Dark Age.. oh Camelot Unchained bring to the table?
